Company Law
Our Company Law solicitors are experts in all aspects of Corporate andCommercial law.
We specialise in acting for entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses, shareholders and investors across a wide range of sectors and industries advising on corporate transactions, company structures, finance and banking, and commercial contracts.
We work with start-ups and established businesses, and are highly experienced in all aspects of running, developing and growing a business. Our corporate team also has considerable experience in acting on mergers and acquisition transactions.
Our emphasis is on problem-solving and, wherever possible, finding new and better ways of doing things along the way. This requires trust on both sides, we work closely with our clients to secure their business interests and provide pragmatic advice to help achieve their commercial goals.
Our team draws upon the expertise of colleagues in other departments within the firm to best advance our clients’ cases. For example, we work closely with our private wealth, employment and commercial property colleagues to support clients in all aspects of their corporate and commercial legal matters. This collaborative approach extends to external suppliers and other professionals such as lenders, accountants, investment and financial advisers, with whom we work regularly. This enables us to provide a fully integrated service to our clients.

Employment Law
The law around employment regulations is rarely straightforward, so having the issues spelt out through clear advice helps. Our expert employment team is able to help with the full range of employment law matters, supporting both employers and employees to understand their rights, responsibilities and legal obligations.
Employment law advice for employers
Employment law is complex, and mistakes can lead to reputational damage, harm relations with staff, and potentially prove costly for your business or organisation.
We know our clients want practical solutions, not legal lectures, so our goal is to deliver clear, straightforward, unambiguous advice, coupled with clear recommendations, aimed at keeping your business moving forward. Often, we work alongside clients as an outsourced HR resource, advising when needed and can do so on a retainer basis. We are only interested in charging for the value that we add.
Sometimes you’ll be involved in major projects, such as redundancy or outsourcing exercises. Our extensive experience means we deliver efficiently, accurately and on time. We offer diagrams to explain the process, roll-out programmes, scripts to use at employee meetings and experienced draftsmen to deal with the warranties and indemnities that might be needed.
Overall, our aim is to get business done – despite the obstacles and distractions often in the way. Sometimes that will involve taking on risk, sometimes you will want to ensure that the risk is minimised. That’s why you need commercially minded lawyers who’ll help you see things in black and white.
Employment law advice for employees
As an employee you have legal rights and your employer has a duty to treat you in a certain way, ideally in an environment that is supportive to your career goals and personal wellbeing.
Unfortunately, workplace disputes between an employer and employee occur frequently and can often have an impact on workplace performance and staff morale. Disputes can be stressful and emotionally draining, and it is vital that employees know where they can access high quality, reliable expert advice about their options.
Our solicitors are experts in all aspects of employment law, ensuring they can provide comprehensive, practical and straightforward legal advice to help protect your rights as an employee. We will help you understand your rights and advise on a cost-effective way forward to help you achieve your desired outcome, from issues concerning discrimination or disciplinary action, redundancy advice or dismissal proceedings, grievance procedures or Settlement Agreements.
